First of all I should have been more clear about what I am hearing. This is simply the noise you hear when putting your ear up to the tweeter. I would describe this sound as a hiss. After posting this request I was checking this again and realized I was testing the right speaker with my left ear and that I was checking the left speaker with my right ear. I found out today that I hear better with my right ear. If I use my right ear on both speakers they appear to be consistent in the amount of hiss they output. I do not hear this when moving as few as inches from the tweeter. Since I was originally looking at this from the perspective of why one speaker made noise and the other did not. Apparently this is not an issue. I am still interested in getting impressions regarding the MP-3 vs. MP-1. Thank you.
