What kind of "noise" did you have before, and what is the quality of the noise you have now? Is it low frequency or high? Is it a hum-m-m-m, suggesting a pure tone, or is it a buzz-z-z-z, which is probably a mixture of frequencies. Is it volume-control dependent, or is it the same amplitude regardless of your volume control setting. You are correct; you shouldn't have a "noise" problem, and you don't have to put up with it.
