Re: Gizmological Heresy?

I believe this is the one cogent comment that Harvey has ever made in criticizing Atma amps, the problem of getting those output tubes to operate in unison without being able to balance each one separately. It is possible to overcome this problem by adding complexity to the driver stage or reducing the number of output tubes. But this one nit that Harvey has been picking at is a typical "big lie". It does not follow from this criticism that all Atma amps are fatally flawed, as he implies. I don't think all the rest of us could possibly have tin ears and that HR alone is in contact with perfect wisdom. It's one of those "true-true-unrelated" questions that we got on our college board exams. All circuits involve some form of compromise, certainly including the ones that HR now says he prefers to the M60. You all should know that I e-mailed him directly, after reading his latest diatribe. In his response, Harvey told me that he "kick-started" Atma-sphere many years ago and that he alone is responsible for the MkII (6SN7-based) voltage amp/driver stage. It is no wonder that Ralph might want to give Harvey himself a "kick-start". Since Ralph also collects and rides motorcycles, he should know a thing or two more than HR about kick-starting. Oh yeah, I almost forgot; he also told me he now believes that the PL509 is the only power tube suitable for OTL use. HELLO. Is Mr. Triodezilla at home? Or did he change his name to Mr. Pentodezilla. So, he'll probably read this, and I will be the next one to get sued.
