My Goertz Alpha Core inductors have been in my Chicago basement for nearly 20 years and are not corroded, I just went down and checked them after seeing the present discussion. The climate is hardly dry here, the last several Springs have set and subsequently broken rain records going back to the 1880's when they first started keeping records. I'm running 12 ga. Alphas on the bass and 14 ga. on the mids with first order series crossovers. One of the benefits of using Alphas is that they offered custom specification coils for the price of their next higher priced coil, but I don't know if they still offer this service. However if you are going to use your speakers on your yacht in the tropics, then you may have a concern in regard to corrosion.
