Doing so seems simple.
IF one believes Internet and Brochure babbles.
Only real life variation in an Inductor ..beyond one so poorly made that it suffers saturation effects (few do but sometimes the cheap ass ferrite core types 'can'.. albeit under odd circumstances). Inductance value is either correct or it isn't.
Wire Gauge determines the Resistance of the coil... THE most important part IMO.
Dicking with that Resistance blindly.. ie; departing from what the OEM inductor had, as used by the speaker designer! Is Seriously problematic as it messes what the designer spent a Lot of time compensating for the cheap ass components he was forced to use.
A resistance change will usually have Unpleasant side effect.
But hey ! learn this one for yourself.
As for Goertz Foil cores ?? Mine now 25 yrs old. are tarnished to hell Yippee! Go Goretz you incompetent Bungler.
