are pretty big... not nearly as massive as a VOTT, but they will take up some space at 72 pounds each. I run them 2" away from the walls and I imagine you would get increased bass response if you put them closer. The bass is pretty good on these speakers - the lower mids aren't the hottest - perhaps the RCA sourced 12" woofer isn't the best. The speakers shine with the Alnico 802s though.
