In my limited experience with 15" woofers that have very stiff suspensions and low Vas the sens. is there but bass articulation at low levels isn't. It sounded like cheap cardboard bass. Modern ones tend to be designed for small boxes played with large amps. For home use a person is driven out of the room before the bass will sound good.
Large Vas, floppy suspensions, rolled cloth surround gave a more articulate and deeper perception than the numbers would suggest. This is in a normal home listening room with low power, a watt or less. These woofers really preasurized the room a 3-4 watts.
I know of only one other person who agrees with me and his favorite 15†is the EV DL15W crossed below 400hz.
YMMV
