Hello all,

I've take up listening to music by headphones (only) and I have a question about headphone recommendations. I currently have a pair of AKG 701S plugged directly into a Denon AV receiver. The sound is good, but either they're distorting or revealing the inaccuracies in my music source. I only listen to itunes Match over an Apple TV box. (Please don't flame me for non-audiophile sources.)

Are there headphones that would make a material improvement or is this it for the level of source material I have? I did notice that some instrumental music (e.g. Joe Hisaishi) sounded stellar in this rig.
