What wrong with the statement "I know my room" ???

Seem's to me that's a given. Well all know from experience where the best placement is for speakers and where to sit. We also know where the best placement is for some speaker types depending on what we have owned in the past. Your room is one of the most important "components" so you should "know your room". Unless I am taking this out of context to a statement made where it wasn't relevant???
