I have the upgraded PS version.
In my L3 I'm using two (one for each channel) decoupling chokes and two 150uf VK BG caps (one for each channel) in my L3 which I like the most after significant experimenting with different caps, different values, no caps/no choke, etc. obviously personal preference and system synergy comes into play here . . .
However, in my DAC 3.1 I'm currently using:
The following are Panasonic TS-ED 450v caps (again arrived at by recommendations and experimentation)
C5 82uf
C3 220uf
C6 220uf
C7 220uf
The following are consistent with the stock uf and voltage values but using different caps. (BG and Audio Note) except for C10 is stock
C1, C8, C9, C10, C2, & C4
The issue is everything was working well until it wasn't . . .:-)
I currently have the decoupling choke in place with no cap as I haven't "decided" whether or not to continue to experiment with different caps or remove the decoupling choke/cap combo in my DAC all together. I realize there is varied opinion on this . . . as there is on everything in life . . .:-)
So back to my original problem . . . a low level "garbled sound" heard from the speakers only when the DAC is in the system and a CD is playing. . . otherwise the "garbled sound" is not present . . .??? When the volume is turned up it masks the garbled sound but it is still present . . .
