Hi all,
I've had great results in my preamp using 5692 "rocket valves" - I love the sound. Given this, I was wondering about trying a 5692 in place of the 6SN7 on my Kit1.
Obviously they are compatible as far as heater voltages and pins are concerned. Measuring my amp I have 360 V before the dropper and 169V on the anode, the 5692 is rated at 275V max. I think plate dissipation on the 5692 is lower but I can't find the stats (I've checked Duncans Amp pages).
I'd be keen to hear any comments as to the views or likely impact ?
