It sounds like it is reproducible, nice. Your tech does sound capable, what he tried makes sense. Since that didn't find it, and it is reproducible, suggest he use a scope to try to localize it. Might have to null feedback, but it should be visible to help isolate it. Suggest look at B+ then amplification stage by stage. Trigger on the noise at the output stage to correlate because each occurrence of the noise will be different.
