I wouldn't trust Best Buy as far as I could throw the store. Maybe they don't do it at the store you were at, but they do it at some stores; deliberately configure the demo to sell you some other product because it's "as good as" the Mac.
Did they, by any chance, recommend something else? A big Red Flag if they did.
