Mac does have it's "house" sound, same as many other brands, you either like Mac's sound or not. I like it better than some but personally it's not my type of sound to have in my system.
I did hear a Mac set up with the new reference preamp and driving some large Sonus Faber. That was a good sounding system. A bit wooly in the bass but we thought it may be the room.
I don't know how some of the integrated amps do with B&W, I heard the kilowatt monoblocks push the big Nautilus, I have never heard B&W come alive like that before. More of a bass response I ever heard Classe or ARC get out of them.
