"Coherence" is essentially a term used for subjective evaluation and/or marketing in today's audiophile lingo. That's why I mentioned both coherence and "coherence." :)
The acoustic lobing is not unrelated to coherence. Lobing is obviously caused by phase-shifts resulting from the large transducer area. This is an inherent property of the radiation and partially explains the narrow sweet spot. That's non-coherent in my book. :)
The (room) setup of Acoustats does not change its lobing behavior in a free-field environment.
