Russ, I have owned both and prefer the 3.5 over the 3.6. It really is warmer than the newer model.
My listening taste is about 80% classical and the other 20% jazz. To my ears a concert grand piano
is way too thin on the 3.6 and barely acceptable on the 3.5. But I do attend live music events several times a week. These are rather varied. Last week it was an opera Saturday, chamber music
Wed and a big band(jazz) on Friday. Tonight it's back to chamber music with a Hilary Hahn recital.
No speakers get everything right and none approach the sound of live music. If your taste runs mostly to pop, jazz and rock then the 3.6 might be a better choice.
