The 3.6 really is a completely different speaker than the 3.5 ... whereas the 3.5, 3.3 and the IIIa are very similar (with XO differences).
Yes, the 3.6 has the same, narrower 3ohm ribbon as the 3.5 but it's mid-range panel is wider than the 3.5 and, to compensate, the bass panel is not as wide. Hence the 3.6 mid panel has a greater area then the 3.5's mid-panel but its bass panel has a lesser area than the 3.5 bass panel.
Supposedly, it has a more coherent sound but it has less bass than the 3.5.
