They completed the knock-down texture on the new walls. Code requires a window in the room, actually one on each end of the structure. I didn't want a window in the room, so it's gone. I stapled two layers of Auralex foam into the casing to (acoustically) cover the glass, then nailed a frame (with a layer of insulation for quiet measure) to the wall and nailed the carpet to that frame - voilĂ , a decorative magic trick (the window disappeared).

The color scheme grew from that rug.
