Glad you got it figured out. I had a similar thing happen when I hooked up my new amps with my old ultimate outlets. They were sitting unused and some new powercords allowed me to use those filters. Well worth it.

but then I'd switch back to the Ayre and found what seemed like detail in the BCs was actually grain and the Ayre sounded much less digital, more fluid and musical and tones more lifelike with better body.

That sounds like RF to me from the ice modules that the mags might be picking up. That rf choke tweak may be a must with digital amps, though I am not sure how one could do that with the gunned models of maggies. maybe some one with chime in on how to add an rf choke on the series crossovers.
