Oh yes!! For just one song it would be I Saw Here Standing There by the Beatles. I would been around 8 when it hit the AM airwaves on the table top radio my grandparents gave me. They will always be my favorite group. FWIW, the remasters of Sgt. Peppers and Abbey Road are excellent.
Let's see... My earliest musical memories are from around age 3 - 4, which would be 1959 -1960. My father was stationed in Verona, Italy and I heard Volare all the time. When my mom and I were in Venice a few years back we asked a quartet in St. Peter's Square to play it. Mom's gone but the fond memory remains.
My earliest records were 45's that were played on a Close'N'Play. Not sure what they were - I would have been around 5 in 1961 - but I'm pretty sure they included Turkey in the Straw. First "real" record was a 45 of Fancy Pants by Al Hirt when I was about 7 in 1963. Then came Downtown by Petula Clark. The lady was H-O-T and I still sing along when it comes on the radio. My first album was Meet the Beatles. Still have it. I have great musical memories of the mid to late 60's and wish they could get the DJ's on the XM 60's channel to shut the "F" up so I could hear more music.
Anyhoo...
Steve
