RE: Vertical MMG's

Thanks for all the info and ideas gentlemen. I Well my frames got delayed since I never made it to my buddies school , My car decided to give out on me , so I got to sit 2 hours in the high desert sun waiting on AAA, the weekend was shot and I got to buy a new mass air flow sensor and spend $500 by the time I was done Monday, I swear its always something ! Maybe I can work it in in a couple more weeks. A few weeks ago I picked up a couple of very nice maple veneer subwoofer boxes from another member, Free and in perfect condition with grills, seems he couldn't even get people to come get them for free. Anyway they are set up for a 12" driver I want to set up one for now. My MMG's are getting about 200WPC and the cheapie Yamaha Sub I have now puts out 70watts which definitely is not doing it, its also a servo ported design, also not doing it. This woofer cabinet is a good size 15"wide 17"deep and 18" high braced well. I figure a few of you probably have DIY subs . I am basically looking to just make up the bottom end on the MMG's not looking for the wall shaking 1500 watt type of thing , just to come up with a clean tight sounding sub.Oh and the subs when done will be off to the corners back behind the panels, I thought of going under the speakers but it raises them way to high when I set them up just to listen and get ideas. what kind of driver and amp plate do I want to look for ? I want to keep it fairly inexpensive but I also don't want a dirt cheap swap meet $30 driver . I saw an amp at parts express 240wpc @ 4ohms on sale for $109 ? I'm hoping smarter guys than me can give me some ideas !
