Lunch break quickie. My MMGs stand straight and are MylarFront (factory default). Much initial experimentation in my room led to this. At some point early on, I dropped the idea of raising them. Largely, because I lost bass no matter what I tried. (The WAF also went negative).
Since I try to avoid the use of the subwoofer, that meager but clean-sounding lower bass extension becomes precious. I do not know that this applies to all/most MMG-room combos.
Now, if you plan to add woofers below the MMGs -- which I have not discarded -- that's a different equation. Of course, if you use the sub all the time, none of this matters.
