Thank you.
Look forward to the results.

I've been looking into that 20ga wire you've been talking about. Have you used it for any projects? I'm wondering what I could use it for...

I have (2) 4' pairs I tried with Klipsch La Scalas (wires from tweeter to crossover). Sounded a little thin to me. Used the Duelund 16 GA version (Tin-Plated, Stranded Copper, Cotton/Oil (DCA16GA) instead.
There is a thread on Audiogon discussing ICs made from this 20 and 16 GA wire.
This link also addresses RCA and XLR ICs:

You will need to scroll down a bit to get to the section on XLR ICs.
Hey Davem1
I ran a three-wire run for each + and - for a single-ended version. This gave me 21ga, I can agree that the sound does seem a bit fuller but still retains very good clarity. I would say the low end to mid-low is more 'assured' sounding. Not night and day but more consistently full.

Thanks
Interesting read....it appears he likes stranded wire....also the 20ga.Personally I like solid core for IC's, either XLR or Single-ended. I also looked at some [Mundorf silver/gold wire, 0.5mm dia, SGW105], but I think I bought enough Duelund to meet my needs.
I agree, the 26ga did sound thin to me at first but after a week or so it bloomed....this is speaking only of the thin braided XLR not the braided over cotton core.
I also don't like to cover my cables in unnecessary garments, as it does dull the sound to my ears.
For speaker wires I use Duelund DCA12GA tinned copper multistrand wire in cotton and oil, unterminated.
Next up....I'm going to play with some Duelund Caps.
