I've read several posts of members using hockey pucks for isolation.
I will need to set up my equipment on the hard tile floor until my audio stand arrives.
I've already seen the links some members posted to the websites for hockey pucks.
I'm not sure though which ones will be best for isolation.
Looks like there's different sizes and material composition.
They will be set up under my amp, preamp and source units.

While reading about these over on A'Gon, and then purchasing two sets I've found these while not as cheap as several footers mentioned above, but far cheaper then my Shun Mook Super Diamond Resonators or MSA Nanotech BlackPods Footers.
I've found them quite effective as used atop IKEA boards placed onto the floor or atop my Sound Anchors Rack. In which sense they'll work just as well underneath your gear once your stand arrives.

A $1 per piece? That seems awfully high, probably the typical audiophile markup that we often see. ;)
These are ~$0.31 each and do work:

This is the other with a polymer layer instead of cork. They're also available in larger sizes

I have about 2 dozen each of both the cork and the blue versions. I actually prefer the cork versions, they seem a bit more compliant. But the blue version does look better. I did not A/B them but the cork version seemed a smidge smoother?
So use these under the components instead of the hockey pucks?
The components will be set on a hard tile floor for probably 4 to 6 weeks.
Yup. These isolation blocks are rebranded by a reasonably well known audio manufacturer and marked up accordingly. Get them direct and they cost virtually nothing. I use them in my system and they seem to work although I can't say there is a huge difference with them in my system.
These would be for temporary use anyway until I get my stand.
I'll check out their website again and look at it in more detail.

Not really, they are frozen so the rubber is not lively and bouncing.

The pucks are thrown in a freezer to cool them to ice temp, 10f - 15f. I know the audiophile in you would not settle for anything less than a nitrogen bath, like about -320f. Big diff
I have wondered the same thing. My WAG is that they are too hard for any real isolation. I have used sorbothane in the past and like it.
I think it depends on the weight of the components above them. I use them without qualms under heavy stuff and use the softer "practice pucks" under lighter gear. Don't much like sorbothane :-)
The heaviest unit is about 45 pounds ( amp) and the lightest about 10 pounds.
Both the regulation pucks and practice pucks are so inexpensive (~a buck apiece if I remember correctly), I'd just try 'em and see if they work for you. Three per component. Or four.
