I used to have two RR-77s�both placed on my rack behind the speakers. They worked regardless of orientation; I placed mine at 90 degrees, so I didn�t have to stare at the blue light. FWIW, I sold one and replaced it with a King Rex PSU for the remaining unit. I couldn�t tell any reliable difference between having two and having one King Rex�powered unit. Hope this helps.

  If the AR uses a switching power supply as standard it will be affecting your mains quality. The effect of upgrading the supply may be as simple as reducing the hash introduced to the mains by the device' power supply.

  I'm not even trying to guess why the PSU works. All I know is, it does.
