got this idea from alan maher (which to foreshadow, makes me wonder how effective his products are)
i've had 2 sheets of ERS in my audio toolbox doing nothing for years; whenever i tried them before, i either heard A) nothing or B) a mild attenuation of the highs that i found objectionable. well, alan wrote of using ERS to line the breaker box of your house, so i did so using duct tape to affix it to the breaker box (operation complete in 5 min and at no point did i need to kill power to the house, so obviously i was just lining surface areas & no conductive points)
living w/ it a few days has been nothing but upside; it very much lessens background noise that rides on the mid-high frequency band which gives rise to bad digititis and stage confusion. discs that heretofore were brightish and confused now have a sence of ease to them. i can listen louder for longer, and i've always maintained that if you cannot listen to something at higher dbs its b/c of a distortion you find objectionable; the ERS breaker box tweak reduces that distortion for minimal effort & time. highly recommended.

I lined the inside of my breaker box about 5 years ago. I have mde so many changes to my system since then. Gets me thinking to remove it as a test. I have heard very good things about AMs devices. Plan to get one for an A/B test

rhyno,
While there seems to be some debate of the composition of ERS; carbon fibers or not, there is no doubt that ERS is conductive.
I was reminded of this a few days ago experimenting with ERS placement inside a DVD player power supply section.
I was moving a small piece of ERS around with my hand and accidently brushed the the AC IEC input socket with the ERS causing a big flash and burned ERS.
Lucky it did not damage the DVD player nor did I get zapped...
Cheers All.
but I have two Shakti Stones on the exterior of the door to my breaker box and placed two of Alan's Infinity filters inside the box itself. Great tweeks with huge upside.
I do have a few sheets of ERS lying around and may line the interior of the door to the breaker box to see what results. However, my initial though is it could be overkill.
"However, my initial though is it could be overkill."Bye bye dynamics. It's easy to suck the life out of the music.

In an earlier thread, I recall Alan saying that he does not recommend using ERS sheets with his products. I think your instincts about overkill are correct.

I vaguely remembered that. Thanks for the reminder.
