I was wondering how this little $500.00 single outlet power conditioner would compare to Alan Maher's reasonably priced ($75.00) Power Enhancer ? I just can't see this thing being worth the price difference.

is that the Audience unit provides surge protection, which from my conversations with Alan is not something the PE provides. I also like the fact the Audience has a three prong plug. Other than that I'm not sure how these compare other to note the obvious which is the PEs are quite a bit less. I'd really be interested in knowing how the Audience compares to my PE-IV, which narrows the price gap.
Can't have everything for $75 bucks :-)
I'm sure the Audience boys put together a fine product for the price to support their product line. Audience has always made a first rate product.
Alan
for $75 I'm not complaining, and I've addressed the surge supression in other ways based on your suggestions. I'm still ahead of the game price wise.
Good...you are much better off.
How is the custom PE IV holding up? The new version is scaled back to fit inside a wall wart case.

I was able to verify what hot/neutral leads to the outlet receptacles were live and which were used to daisy chain to the next outlet. So I configured the outlet to allow the PE IV to be plugged in on the top receptacle.
Then I have my Exact Power EP-15A plugged into the other receptacle on the same outlet. This is giving me surge suppression and correcting the AC to output 120/60 continuously. I run the BPT PPC non-filtered power strip from an unfiltered outlet on the EP-15A. Then all my gear is plugged into the BPT.
Other PEs are scattered on other circuits in the apartment and everything seems to be nicely tuned at the moment.

say $425 cheaper and already positively reviewed vs. unknown black box with hype to go on?
Howdy
I've not tried either personally, but a friend of mine really likes the Adept Response aR1p on his dedicated lines. I'll not address the cost issue :)
