Yes, I knew about the pronunciation of Hervey Bay. I have done quite a bit of research on the area. I selected the area because of the great saltwater fly-fishing. I have been communicating with this guide.

And yes, I am finding that the internet is very poor there... I checked our resort and it is about 1/10 of 1 Mbps ... I am probably getting one of these.

Australian internet speeds are rated somewhere in the world's worst 5%... sub-Saharan tribes have better service. That mobile hub is probably as good as it will get. All mobile services come through Telstra and the closer you get to them the better it tends to get.
It is still poor.
The fishing community is strong and friendly.
