I got my Boss DAC Top Hat for my Raspberry Pi this past week..... I am planning on using this for Travel to my Winter Destination (Australia this year)...
I did some initial comparisons with my RPi/Digione hooked up to my 'Crappy' Teac Dac (UD-301) --- and I prefer the 'Crappy' Teac Dac... Not by a Huge Margin though.... But the Boss Dac wins for Travel as it, with the Rpi, is a very small Package.
I had another Zebra Case due to 'Shipment confusion' on the part of the Vendor, so I put the case to use..... The Zebra Case had to be modified a bit with the Boss Dac Top Hat, as it would not fit without cutting a Piece of Plastic with my Wire cutters.... (Not recommended for first time Zebra Case Users) - The Boss Dac Top is designed a bit different than other Top Hats. And with other Top Hats, you cannot use the Stand Offs supplied with the Boss DAC.. You have to be very Flexible to use the Zebra Case. But when you're done, you have a very sturdy, small Case than the others... Great for Travel.Cut-Throat

I was curious about your destination and read that it's one of the fastest growing areas in the country. Also looked on Google Maps and found several photos. Looks like a great place to vacation!
Will you be staying at a hotel/resort, or maybe a townhome/condo?
If I recall, you've vacationed in the Caribbean before but I suspect many of those destinations have been devastated by the hurricanes.

I selected the location based on the Great Saltwater Fishing there. Shallow water inshore stuff. We have a Townhome located in a resort about 2 blocks from the Ocean.
We have spent the last 3 winters on Grand Bahama Island... It was devastated by Hurricane Matthew last October, but we still spent the winter there. Our place had power and internet when we got there in December.. They have dodged the hurricanes thus far this season and doing well... Although it takes years to fully recover from a hurricane.

Harvey Bay has has some bad press down the years, but is a growth area.
The front, unless it has changed a lot, is quaintly old fashioned, with the beach largely shielded from the road by a run of trees.
Fishing would be pretty good along that way.
It is also well placed for some trip0s to see a bit of Australia perhaps not often featured in TV shows.
You'll find what I might compare with some parts of the Deep South in America, very rural and often quite poor but with very friendly people.
Maryborough is the home town of the woman who wrote Mary Poppins.
Bundaberg is the heart of rum country or perhaps sugar country. Rum production was a way of handling a glut if I remember correctly.
The towns/cities are quite small and the air in the country has a very distinct smell to it.
Try not to worry about our reputation for snakes and spiders and crocodiles and jellyfish and even some of the people... ;-)
Harvey Bay airport is popular as it connects directly with Sydney which Bundaberg does not.
At the moment we are entering spring and there has been a prolonged drought. I think it has rained once in about 6 months. Fire warnings are everywhere, but mainly inland.
Depending on when you are coming, it should be raining and I am sure you know what tropical rain is like... 300mm in an afternoon would count as heavy...
Oh, Australian internet standards are absolutely terrible.
If you are a beer drinker, try and find some of the smaller Queensland breweries... Bargara, Baffle Creek. If the choice is wine, stay away from Queensland wines... the climate is too hot for anything but pudding wines... Barossa Valley (South Australia) for reds, Margaret River (WA), Marlborough (New Zealand) or Tamar Valley (Tasmania) produce many great wines.
Drivers have a habit of not signalling so give them room and the police say you are expected to stay under the speed limit!
I think there is a wildlife sanctuary in Maryborough and cuddling a kangaroo is highly recommended. DO NOT try that with a wild one... a large Grey male could be over 2 metres high and would make mince meat of you... the photo is one old guy who used to pretty much live of some acreage I used to have... but only if it feels you are threatening the women and babies.
If you have time, try to visit the Great Barrier Reef before our government has enough time to destroy it. Boat trips are common and snorkelling is brilliant.
Thanks for the info!Yes, I knew about the pronunciation of Hervey Bay. I have done quite a bit of research on the area. I selected the area because of the great saltwater fly-fishing. I have been communicating with this guide.

And yes, I am finding that the internet is very poor there... I checked our resort and it is about 1/10 of 1 Mbps ... I am probably getting one of these.

Australian internet speeds are rated somewhere in the world's worst 5%... sub-Saharan tribes have better service. That mobile hub is probably as good as it will get. All mobile services come through Telstra and the closer you get to them the better it tends to get.
It is still poor.
The fishing community is strong and friendly.
Nice!
Do they make different Zebra cases or sections of cases to accommodate different Top Hats on top of the Pi itself?
Of the cases I've seen you guys post, I really like the Zebra cases as they look thick and sturdy.

They make 1 Top Hat Case......What you have to do is snap pieces of plastic in scribe areas to accommodate your Top Hat. I had to even modify a piece that was not scribed to fit the Boss Dac. Video Below.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVOj2N3-7CM&t=431s

Ok, I get it now. If it's not scribed get out the Xacto knife or maybe the Dremel tool or similar. Thanks for posting the video link.

to be much of an issue. Even as a "first timer".
The DigiOne's BNC placement meant I had to further trim mine a bit. Took seconds.

E-Stat, Which Zebra case did you order for your digione? Thanks, Loan

Sourced from Amazon .
Prepare for about an hour for assembly and trimming. I needed to clip some of the narrow pieces in the output jack area.
