Re: CAT5 speaker cable

195.230.0.22

Thank you John Rich and Chris.
I changed the geometry of my speaker cable. Now I use the white coloured wires in a twisted pair for minus while the others for plus. I do not have the equipment to measure inductance but I do not need any equipment to judge the change.
The past two days I am listening to music all the time (through my cd-player passed everything from Tchaikovski and Mussorgski through Joe Cocker, Enigma, Joe Sattriani, Jean M. Jarre, Vangellis and Led Zeppelin to Iron Maiden, Manowar and Rammstein. Now I like the sound of all their music. Before applying the proper geometry of the speaker cables I thought that my equipment has bad sounding and overemphasised hights and not enough resolution. And it surely has when I was using my oldest cheap cables, after that when I was using the thick Monster cables, and even when I was using my current Belden 1583 whith improper connecting geometry. BUT NOW MY SYSTEM HAS NOT ANY OF THEESE OLD PROBLEMS. The problem wasn't in my amp or cd-player at all and now I know this. (For info I use the QED Qnect 2 for IC between my player and my integrated amp which uses the Quad 405/606 current damping type of power stage and they are some kind of great ones.)
(And for meaningles info: the name that I use here in AudioAsylum isn't Boris but Daudius. I was in shame to ask that kind of silly questions using so boambastic a name. But now I am very happy I asked you.)
Thank you twice again!

Daudius
