OK - This looks like an interesting project. Perhaps you can help me out on a few points:
Why the use of wood or plywood instead of MDF?Why can't the dimension be changed if the internal volume remains the same? Wouldn't a taller but less deep version be suitable or is there something I am overlooking?
Why brace the woofer internally instead of(or in addition to)hanging it from the front via the mounting holes?
I am interested in moving toward a 2A3 amp and this type of approach seems to make a lot of sense. However if I am going to do this I want to make sure I make the best choices.
