I was just browsing through the EIFL Web-Site....
Here is what you SHOULD do:
2 X Fostex FE204 for $ 66 each from Koji San
If you must, add some form of HF Driver, preferably not a piezo.
Build the Box as shown.
That is larger than the shouecartons you wanted, but it will do a realistic 94 -95db/W/m and will go down to an honest 50Hz.
