Hi there,Small size and efficiency are mutually exclusive. I'd say try a Fostex FE204 (to keep the Price down) in 20 Liter sealed enclosures with the addition of a supertweeter.
Or find a pair of WE 755 or something like this. The Audax Driver you are talking about are pretty bad.
If memory serves, Pioneer makes a 5.25" Car full-range. I rember preferring them distinctly over anything else on a huge wall of Car Speakers. And the other car speakers went all the way to rerribly expensive 8" Triax units.... Maybe worth seeking out and listening to?
