You can build your own lead slabs by melting wheel balancing weights and pouring the lead into a sand mold. Get the weights from your local tire shop, pick out all the vinyl coated and discard(these make a mess) their easy to spot ie; plastic peeling off. Put all remaining DRY(moisture will splatter the lead) weights in an old steel pan, heat until liquid, pull out the steel tabs with an old slotted metal spoon. Form your mold in whatever shape you like, ingots, flat balls, speaker matching contours.Try to keep the sand as dry as possible(more splatter). These are almost free, but please take the appropriate precautions, eye protection, gloves,a cheap respirator(home depot)NO DUST MASKS,CAUTION, LEAD FUMES.These will take paint but the finish wont be very durable.Good Luck, BE CAREFUL, author assumes no responsibility. joejabs
