Not always the case. Id rather enjoy a movie via my audio system than through the two 3" "full range" drivers that came in my TV. I don't think that it makes me stuck on HT gear because I use it for that specific purpose. And as for compromises... the world is full of them. I for am $monetarily challenged$, so as most DIY people do we strive for our own personally holy grail within the constraints of our budget. Being a little speculative... Im sure that your listening room is a compromise. I doubt that you built it from the ground up for the express purpose of audio. I definitely could be wrong as I have ran across a few people that have built their own dedicated listening rooms/environments from the drafting table,but... I also fail to see where the compromise is from the audio standpoint. If your amplifier is linear to 2K, your driver is being run in Xmax, the enclosure is designed to have the bass extension you need, and you are getting the output from this set up that you desire... where is the compromise?Scott
