to quote jbl's site:
http://www.jblpro.com/pages/components/2235h.htmthe 2235h has:
Sd: 0.089 m2 ( 138 in2)
Maximum Excursion Before Damage: 22 mm (7/8 in peak to peak)
Xmax: 8.5 mm (0.33 in) (note that the vc length-gap height/2 is lower then this again! also note that the Voice Coil Winding Depth is not 191 mm as shown in the spec sheet, but 19.1mm!!)so max displacemnt, at max excursion peak to peak magnetic break point is 890.30 x 0.85 = 756.755 cc of displacemnt
the blueprintdrivers 15" bdp 1503 has
sd: 804.30 cmsq
X-max = 45mm p-p (which is 22.5 xmax one way)so max displacemnt, at max excursion peak to peak magnetic break point is 804.30 x 4.5 = 3619.35 cc of displacemnt
sorry, but there is no way of breaking hoffmans iron law, though the 2235h might manage 113db @ 14hz in a small room. horn loading of course changes things again. :)
btw, the rcf L18p300 is a MUCH better PA sub driver IMHO.
