the 15" high excursion driver is designed to use room gain effectively and for the easy allowance for most any electronic assist . Most other drivers would otherwise bottom out.

I highly doubt that many drivers (includng that JBL) can hit 113db at 14hz! I was there when they demoes this driver at 14hz (ant others aswell as music), where the 2000watt amp was on the verge of clipping (pretty much the amp at full power. Simulations puts this driver at 113db at 14hz with its setup.

The JBL you are talking about is more likey a ProSound driver....not quite my taste of tea...and would not be good for HT...IMO
