Technically, you're right. There's a lot to this, especially with regard to crossover networks.

But, in a way, so what?

If people want to put whipped cream on their bologna sandwich, that's their business. To my knowledge that has very little effect on the space time continuum.

The only ones who might ever be affected are subsequent purchasers of the equipment.
