K40y9 PIO caps paralleled with MKT1813

Having too much time on my hands these days (I damaged my knee ligaments and haven't been working for a few weeks), and having this new cheap active crossover to play with, I remembered I had some 0,033uF K40y9 Russian caps lying around (I used them as input coupling caps in my mid-high amplifier for a while).

Since there is a lot of space around the existing 10uF MKT1813 input coupling caps in the crossover, I decided to put the PIO caps in parallel with those.

Immediately the sound character changes completely: silky midrange, some kind of "glow" or "sheen" that's difficult to describe, slightly rolled off in the extreme highs but very transparent at the same time.

You really cannot mistake the sound of those caps with anything else. With everything acoustic / voices they really shine!

I need to listen more - the caps haven't been used in more than a year and they might go trough some slight changes; also I'm trying to listen to some eventual blurring of some frequencies because I use two caps in parallel - so far it seems fine tho.

What is the consensus on using a smaller bypass cap on a coupling cap? I read contradictory stuff about the merits / disadvantages of doing so...
