There is reportage from at least one person about exceptional sound stage depth with the K40-Y. Much of my experience with tweaking and bypassing was in the late 90's and while I always heard results from bypassing I never achieved the remarkably large increase in depth you are reporting. In my experience depth don't come easy. I have been to a few shows and don't hear much sound stage depth. The most marked depth I have ever heard was in my own system when I had a noisy CJ45 tube amp and have never heard anything close since. So maybe you just lucked out from a bypass or lucked out from the particular PIO bypass but you lucked out none the less. T456
