I had the same problem with my Audioquest mat. What I did was to take one of those antistatic record sleeves, the frosted plastic ones, cut a circle out of it and lay it over the sorbo mat. No more stickiness, and the sorbo doesn't trap dirt anymore. I don't think Sorbothane needs to stick to whatever is vibrating, it's more of a vibration to heat conversion thing as opposed to damping a platter with mortite.
