In my case, I would replace the components one at a times. First, Caps and hookup wire, then listen to the improvement. Then, replace the coil. I used Cardas wires with 11.5AWG for bass drivers and 15.5AWG for tweeter. The caps i used Ansar caps, because cost much less than the Hovland, but I also bypass with 0.1MFD Hovland caps. with Cardas hookup wires, the soundstage wider and very musical. If you want transparent sound, use the Kimber wires. Next, I will replace the coil with Alpha Core, but I don't think the change will be subtled. The cost of Ansar Caps is about 1/5 the Hovland or Auricap. I like Hovland more than Auricap, the cost are comparable. But first, I need to do some damping the internal box with vinyl tile all around. I think, it's worth the investment to upgrade crossover and hookup wires.enjoy.
