Hello JohnR,I can help you with one of the issues you raised - inexact inductance value for your solo coils. Curiously enough, I had a similar problem obtaining the exact value solo copper foil inductors for a pair of maneplanar 2B's I once had. I went to a friend who had an inductance meter (some Digital Multimeters also have this feature), undid the end of the coil (secured by tape as I recall) and wound off the foil whilst continuously measuring the inductance . When I had the appropriate value, I cut the foil, reterminated the ends (neatly fold back the copper and used heatshrink etc.. and then retaped the end of the coil tightly as before. This way you can also get a perfect match of inductors (left & right channels).
