Hi, sorry it has taken so long to answer. The new caps(1000/16V) are smaller than they used to be. It was easy to find one at Digi-Key that would fit even if it was bigger than the original. Yes I do have an idea for why they sound better. This cap is the filter on a Voltage REF-pin. That means that a bigger value of cap means a steadier voltage reference, and better sound. And it got even better after a day or two. Everyone that has heard it has the same reaction saying that it has way more detail. Good Luck, bobwire
