RE: Speaker Gasket Material

From a home improvement or hardware store purchase some silicone caulk. You can get a relatively small tube for very little money. The GE brand silicone is the best and at the home improvement store comes in a large caulk tube which requires a caulk gun. If you so desire there are any number of colors from which to choose.

The small tube will provide more than enough material for a number of speakers. I have used this to hold speakers to the cabinet without screws. The last set I made and used silicone caulk to hold the speakers in place are going on ten plus years with no problems and no screws.

Apply a thin bead of caulk to the rear of the speaker and drop it in place. Rotate the speaker slightly to get an even spread between the cabinet and speaker. Then let dry per the manufacturers instructions. Clean up with a damp paper towel before caulk sets; or you may rub off the excess with your finger tips once the caulk has cured.
