Hi.
Without shielding (the inter-conductor & conductor-shield capacitance are eliminated), tightly & evenly twisted pair (or "spiraled") provides self cancellation of EMI/RFI up to 1MHz.
All the audio ICs I built are twisted pair without shield. NO hum & no RFI problems. Better sound due to no shielding capacitance existed.
