Problem with Rotel 855 after op amp swap. Help please!

Hi All,

I read many postings on op amp swap at AA sometimes ago and decided to follow and mod my Rotel 855.

Finally did it this afternoon. Changed to femal socket for future easy swap. Pop in the 2604 in place of the old op amp. Put everything together and turned on the power.

What the........ the display showed all the letters and symbols and error message and everything. The player was not responding. Press open button, nothing. Press remote, nothing. Press play, nothing.

Quick, turn off the power. Turn back on again. Same thing.

Gave up. Decided to check on the previous print outs on the op amp swap from AA again. What the..... I was suppose to solder a cap between 4 and 8 pin. Oh no......

So, what can be the problem? Will soldering a cap between 4 and 8 pin solve the problem? Or is there a magical reset button that I was suppose to push after the op amp swap? I put back the original op amp and the player still not functioning. The display still show all message and buttons not responding.

Did I fried some chips because of not installing the cap between pin 4 and 8? If that is the case, which chip did I fried and need to replace?

Please, anyone who had prior experience, please help.

Many thanks in advance.
