Hi there,Now here is a really far out one....
I now use NOS Military Surplus non-inductive Wirewound Resistors which as I have discovered have SOLID SILVER Leadouts, endcapless construction and come up to a 10W.... And no - I'm not telling where I get mine....
For small value Resistors that are not in the "direct" Signalpath (Gridleak resistors and the like) I tend to use Holco, Rohpoint non-inductive wirewounds or vishay's are the choice for stuff where the signal has to pass through....
While I still used Grid-Stoppers I utilised Allen Bradly Carbon Composite Resistors there. Now I simply use Ferrite beads direct on the Valve-Socket Pin....
In powersupplies I allways use Carbon Composite Resistors as "current-brake" or where I use some form of Noise-Filtering.
I think part of the "trick" is to avoid using too many of the same Parts all over a unit. Even the best Parts have a sonic signature, so use as few parts as humanly possible (and then cut a bit further) and mix and match different components to taste....
The above goes even more so for Capacitors BTW.... And don't forget to test a few solders before you comit yourself to a specific one - and no - most Big-Name "Audiograde" solder does not sound good at all....
