I figure that a straight-forward cylindrical geometry of sufficiently small crossection can produce remarkably linear resistivity whilest precluding extranious ill behavior such as skin-effect, capacitance, inductance & magnetic field variances. The sole problems left would be melting & oxidation. But, by making it out of a inert refractory metal with an inordinately large melting-point, the product seems doable.Just my rambling thoughts on the subject ....
