Yes Bill,Everybody will tell you their side of the story, mainly what they think sounds best to them(inc. myself). however, for a more objective opinion you will have to try them yourself.
I have not tried any Caddocks so far...hardly available here locally. If you ever tried it let me know what you think, ok?
Oh and BTW, I've learned my tube tricks mostly from tube gurus there have their bet on AB stuff, including Alan Bradley Volume pots...
I do not hesitate in using metal film resistors like I said before, for the sake of speed and resolution. But to me, the joy of owning an SET amp is not to pursue ultimate resolution but the warmth and emotions from the music it reproduces, and certainly AB carbons do miracles on that.
